Chart Trader

Chart Trader gives you the ability to trade futures contracts directly from a chart. You can monitor positions and P&L as the market updates in real-time, as well as place market, limit and stop orders. Chart Trader is activated when you click the Chart Trader button (top right of the chart panel).

Once opened, the chart is split to reveal Order Entry on the right, along with all working orders for the symbol and your total open position for the symbol.

The chart is also updated to show your Open Position for the symbol and your Profit / Loss. You may view the Instrument Profile by clicking on the Symbol Name.

Quick Order Mode

The Quick Order Mode button is used to toggle the Buy and Sell buttons that are shown below it. This also changes the right-click functions on the chart.

• When Disabled, the top two buttons initiate a Buy or Sell @ MARKET Order. Right-click on the chart and you can place a Sell Limit, Buy Stop, or Buy Stop Limit order at the price on which you click.
• When Enabled, the top two buttons initiate a Buy or Sell LIMIT Order using the Price specified in the Price field. Right-click on the chart and you can place a Buy or Sell Stop, or Buy or Sell Limit order at the price on which you click.

 

Open Position

With Chart Trader, you see your open position for the symbol on the chart and at the bottom of the Chart Trader panel. Your Profit/Loss is shown in dollars by default. Click on the P/L field to toggle and show pips (ticks).
