Mitsubishi Electric Corp was incorporated in Japan on January 15, 1921. The Company is engaged in the manufacture and sales of electrical and electronic products and systems used in range of fields and applications. The Company operates in six business segments based on types and characteristics of products including Energy and Electric Systems, Industrial Automation Systems, Information and Communication Systems, Electronic Devices, Home Appliances, and Others. The Energy and Electric Systems segment is engaged in manufacturing and selling of products including turbine generators, hydraulic turbine generators, nuclear power plant equipment, motors, transformers, power electronics equipment, circuit breakers, gas insulated switches, switch control devices, surveillance-system control and security systems, display devices, electrical equipment for locomotives and rolling stock, elevators, escalators, building security systems, building management systems, and particle beam treatment systems. The Industrial Automation Systems segment is engaged in manufacturing and selling of products including programmable logic controllers, inverters, servomotors, human-machine interface, motors, hoists, magnetic switches, no-fuse circuit breakers, short-circuit breakers, transformers for electricity distribution, time and power meters, uninterruptible power supply, industrial fans, computerized numerical controllers, electrical-discharge machines, laser processing machines, industrial robots, clutches, automotive electrical equipment, car electronics and car mechatronics, and car multimedia. The Information and Communication Systems segment manufactures & sells wireless and wired communications systems, surveillance cameras, satellite communications equipment, satellites, radar equipment, antennas, missile systems, fire control systems, broadcasting equipment, data transmission devices, network security systems, information systems equipment, and systems integration products. The Electronic Devices segment is engaged in manufacturing & selling of power modules, high-frequency devices, optical devices, and LCD devices. The Home Appliances segment manufactures & sells products including LCD televisions, room air conditioners, package air conditioners, air-to-water heat pump boilers, refrigerators, electric fans, ventilators, photovoltaic power generation systems, hot water supply systems, LED lamps, fluorescent lamps, indoor lighting, compressors, chillers, dehumidifiers, air purifiers, showcases, cleaners, rice cookers, microwave ovens, and IH cooking heaters. The Others segment is engaged in providing services including procurement, logistics, real estate, advertising, finance and other services.
