
Front month lean hog futures are trading 57 cents to $1.30 in the red through midday. The USDA National Average Base Hog Price for Tuesday was up $1.41 to $89.75. The CME Lean Hog Index was 4 cents lower on 10/31 to $93.75.
Pork cutout futures are down $0.52 to $1.22 in the front months at midday. The USDA Pork Cutout Value was 12 cents higher in the AM report to $97.33. USDA estimated FI hog slaughter for Tuesday at 489k head. That has the week’s total at 975k head, after a Monday revision, for a 1,000 head lead over last week’s pace. The same week last year had 955k head.
