While many reasons support investing in fast-growing, niche-focused companies ahead of the investor pack, the biggest is the most obvious: the returns from doing so can be exponential. And there's plenty of evidence to support that thesis. Consider these examples- a $1,000 investment in Microsoft's (MSFT) October 1986 IPO would be worth over $4.5 million today. A similar $1,000 investment in Apple during its IPO has exploded to over $1.9 million in value.
And it's not just the technology stocks that rewarded early attraction. Coca-Cola (KO) adds further proof of concept, with its stock turning a $1,000 investment in 1990 to over $22,000 at its roughly $56 level last week. The list goes on. And no matter the sector, the companies on that list share a common theme: they are innovative, well-managed, and able to seize market opportunities. Scoring its share of performance wins, Safety Shot, Inc. (SHOT) makes the most recent cut.
Deservedly so. Like other success stories, SHOT is blazing an impressive performance trail of its own, capitalizing on and helping pioneer a wellness and functional beverage company with Safety Shot, the first patented beverage on Earth that helps people feel better faster by reducing blood alcohol content and boosting clarity. While being the first at anything is an unrivaled competitive advantage, it's just a part of a winning formula. Being able to market and sell it is equally important. In that respect, SHOT checks that box in a big way.
Seizing New and Unleashing Legacy Value
In fact, instead of trying to sell door-to-door at local retailers to build its brand, SHOT will begin marketing through the most successful consumer products sales company in the world, Amazon (AMZN), with a target launch date of the week of December 23, 2023. And that rollout is just the beginning of seizing its revenue opportunities from an over $62 billion functional beverage market.
Following the Amazon debut, SHOT plans to launch business-to-business sales of Safety Shot to distributors, retailers, restaurants, and bars in the first quarter of 2024. For investors appraising SHOT's intrinsic value and inherent potential, that total could justify acting quickly to seize what appears to be a considerable valuation disconnect between share price, assets, and near-term sales potential. Here's good news on that front: the mission to close that gap is underway.
Noting its planned December launch, SHOT is only weeks away from a potential revenue-generating liftoff. While that event provides an incentive to invest at current prices, SHOT is planning to do something else: spin-off legacy assets from its Jupiter Wellness business to unlock value for shareholders. In other words, SHOT investors could get a twofer, benefiting from a pre-product launch milestone and a direct benefit from the planned spin-off. With both fueling growth into the new year, the over 36% rally in November could be the precursor to higher highs. (*share price percentage change calculations based on opening price on 11/01/23 of $1.28 and closing share price on 11/14/2023 of $2.38 , Yahoo! Finance)
That's not an overly ambitious expectation. Keep in mind that the 85% November rally is part of an over 128% increase in share price from its October low. Moreover, SHOT stock blitzed through its now former 52-week high of $1.80, closing yesterday at $2.38, 32% above that prior best. That move does something else- it leaves overhead resistance unclaimed. And with updates related to its Amazon launch and planned spin-off likely in the near-term queue, the expectation for more good and value-creating news continues to support the case that the path of least resistance for SHOT stock is higher.
Major Event To Introduce Safety Shot
SHOT wants to make sure that's the case. Making headlines and expediting Safety Shot's introduction to consumers, the company announced it is the official title sponsor of Save our Musicians event, "A Special Private Evening with Luke Bryan," a charity concert event on November 18, 2023, in Jupiter, Florida. The event features Country superstar and American Idol judge Luke Bryan, and if it follows precedent, the event could do more than raise significant money for public charity; it could put the SHOT brand in front of millions of social media views.
The added value driver is that in addition to the booth, banner, social media ads, and stage announcements presence, SHOT will get its beverage in the hands of consumers by offering free samples of its patented Safety Shot at dedicated event stations. Keep in mind this is no small event. Luke Bryan draws enormous crowds wanting to see this superstar perform some of his twenty-nine #1 hits in action. His headline concert tours have played sold-out shows for roughly twelve million fans during his thirty-six stadium performances. Good for him can be excellent for SHOT and its brands by leveraging artist strength and the reach of the concert presented across digital platforms.
There's an additional initiative in play to boost brand awareness and a steepening growth trajectory. SHOT is working with launch partner Advantage Solutions, the #1 marketing promotions agency in the U.S. that manages over $80 billion in product sales annually, serving client placements into distribution through relationships with Anheuser-Busch (BUD), Spindrift, Costco (COST), and Target (TGT). That's to name a few. And here's the potentially best news- SHOT products are not facing challenges from regulatory hurdles.
Safety Shot Is Ready And Able To Launch
That's inherent to Safety Shot, classified as a nutraceutical, which does not require FDA marketing approvals. That can be excellent news for consumers in many ways. Foremost, statistically significant study results showed Safety Shot reduced blood alcohol content within 30 minutes compared to control. Those results could influence Safety Shot demand and, more significantly, from an investor's perspective, allow them to target a unique and potentially undivided sales opportunity. And SHOT is wasting no time positioning to score on that potential.
In addition to the upcoming event presence, SHOT is preparing for its direct-to-consumer launch of Safety Shot in December 2023, enabling retail purchases at its website and other online locations. From there, SHOT expects to ramp sales through its business-to-business sales strategy of selling Safety Shot to distributors, retailers, restaurants, and bars in the first quarter of 2024. SHOT's relationship with Advantage Solutions can expedite that process by leveraging its expansive sales, marketing, and technology solutions to tap into relationships with major food and beverage industry players, including Keurig/Dr. Pepper (KDP), Walmart (WMT), Kroger (KR), and Albertsons (ACI), which have led to billions in annual sales from covering over 250,000 retail outlets in 35 countries. In other words, the working partnership could yield growth at warp speed. That's not all.
SHOT Is Blazing A New Product Category
Pushing the boundaries of innovation and wellness, SHOT is creating an exciting new product category, rapid alcohol detoxification to target revenue generating potential from the $1.56 billion hangover remedies market, a significant market today forecast to grow by 14.6% to 2028. That puts SHOT in the right market at the right time.
More importantly, with the right product. Safety Shot's breakthrough patented formula accelerates the process of detoxifying the body of alcohol through a tailored selection of all-natural vitamins, minerals, and nootropics that assist with rehydration and mental clarity. Through four distinct mechanisms of action (MOAs), Safety Shot targets the central nervous system (CNS), repairing all things that alcohol impairs, accelerating progress to sober up, preventing residual alcohol from being absorbed in the gut, and reducing the effects of alcohol already absorbed by the blood. It does more.
Unlike other known wellness beverages, Safety Shot provides hydration and a "feel good" component, an extra one-two punch that no other drink or presumed remedy can or has claimed. Another claim SHOT makes that others can't or won't is that Safety Shot improves mental and physical feelings of well-being. That list of benefits is supported by data.
A recent study of the nutraceutical functional beverage version of Safety Shot reduced blood alcohol content (BAC) within 30 minutes. Results showed that the average BAC percentage reduction when Safety Shot was administered was 0.079% BAC/hour compared to 0.01% BAC/hour for the control group, which did not drink Safety Shot. That delivered a statistically significant p-value of .02428. A larger double-blinded placebo-controlled trial has been initiated to confirm results, with data expected to be released in December. Incidentally, SHOT doesn't intend to stop product development there. A more concentrated, prescription version of the Safety Shot formula is being developed as a detox product for alcohol poisoning. That formulation could be life-saving, similar to how Narcan treats opioid overdose.
A Safety Shot Value Proposition Exposed
While the latter benefit is an undeniably best attribute of a differently formulated Safety Shot, there's plenty of value inherent to its current formulation. Undoubtedly, alcohol-related problems still exist, and more likely than not, they always will. However, catastrophic events could be mitigated with a product like Safety Shot, which is proving to reduce BAC. Moreover, jobs can be saved, medical services can be expedited, and yes, families can be held together.
Thus, to say that SHOT is positioned to capitalize on a massive and diversified market opportunity is not overstating the obvious. Moreover, if the life-saving formulation against alcohol poisoning gets developed, speculation that SHOT's market cap would surge in response is warranted. Yet, even before that, at $2.38, plenty of other tangibles support a higher share price, especially when combining compelling assets with their near and long-term potential.
Trading over the past few days shows that secret is getting out. Current composite, medium, and long-term indicators are bullish across the board. This shows that investors are paying attention to what SHOT is saying and, more importantly, are voting their support using dollars instead of pure sentiment. Hence, despite the impressive 85% run, and considering that SHOT is better positioned today than ever to capitalize on and maximize market opportunities, a next leg higher could be forming. But consider acting early. With expected news that could expose new milestones reached, that increase could start sooner rather than later, with its new 52-week high set on Tuesday acting as a spring board, not a pedestal.
